Context-free of the show, I especially like the reaction shot to "i can feel colors," whatever Shea Whigham is doing with his face while contemplating weed and Taco Bell, and everything about the last macro.
The old show was super popular back in the day and had a really cool theme song. I remember always being both sorry for and respectful of Mr. Burger the DA. Every week he got his ass kicked by Perry* but he still got in the ring the next week to give it the old college try.
* Except for one draw I think. Somehow the whole trial was cancelled.

SPOILERS AHOY
The HBO show is a prequel/origin story, so the D.A. is a corrupt dude played by Stephen Root; about halfway through the series, though, we meet Assistant D. A. Burger (he's the one having dinner with Della Street in a photo above), who’s gunning for the job, and consequently willing to throw a little assistance Perry’s way…. One viewer wondered if this version of the character would end up kicking himself for that later, though as another pointed out, much as Mason’s courtroom dramatics annoy Burger, the latter does prefer justice to winning, and Mason usually ends up revealing the real killer.
