A few months ago, a woman at work offered me some items she was clearing out that had come from her late friend's house. One of them was a fur muff/purse. I got it out in the last month as it makes a useful clutch for holiday parties. I'd initially thought it might date from the 1960s, but yesterday I examined the remaining zipper pull (the other one was lost), and thought, hey, that looks like the Trilon and the Perisphere.
Stamped on the other side are the initials NYWF.
So I'm thinking this muff was a souvenir from the 1939 World's Fair. I must ask Mary if she knows more about it (unless her friend was much older than herself, it probably belonged to her friend's mother.)
