moon_custafer: me in Covid mask (mask)
Yet another job interview returned a verdict of No. This time, at least, the prospective employer told the job agency that they wanted somebody with more social-media experience (I’m online all the time in my own life, but my past jobs have only occasionally had me set up Facebook pages or make posts on their company blog); and also that I didn’t convey enough enthusiasm in the interview.

I’m pretty sure it’s the latter that’s always given me problems when it comes to job interviews. I feel like I’ve always had that Willy Loman “liked, but not well-liked” thing going on; and that there must be one or more basic human things I’m just not getting; as if I’ve gone through life oblivious to door handles, and I can see that other people have an easier time opening doors, but I can’t figure out why and assume they’re smarter or less lazy.

Meanwhile, since I otherwise appear normal and competent, it never occurs to anyone that I don’t know about the handles, so the only advice I ever get is “Well, just keep trying doors,” or “you have to knock louder or push harder.”
