"Begotten is a 1990 surreal horror experimental film written, produced and directed by E Elias Merhige. The film was shot entirely in black-and-white with no dialogue whatsoever. The film is basically a reimagining of the story of the Genesis.... It was shot on black and white reversal film, and then every frame was rephotographed for the high-contrast look that it presents. Merhige said that for each minute of original film, it took up to 10 hours to rephotograph it for the look desired.

The primary inspiration for the film came from a near-death experiment at the age of 19, after a car crash."

It's from 1990, but it looks much older, in a way.

Last night I dreamed about some non-sparkly but pretentious vampires who needed a babysitter/bodyguard for a human they favoured, and for some reason couldn’t do it themselves (I think they had a ritual gathering to go to), so they hired Michael Myers. Turns out he’s surprisingly affable when you’re not the one he’s trying to kill.
