Daily Stuff
Jul. 13th, 2013 09:41 pmWe didn't check the mail on Friday. Andrew and I checked it today after coming back from seeing Despicable Me 2 (nutshell verdict -- I enjoyed it, but it was less tightly plotted than the first movie, and maybe should have been a tv series instead) and found that my BPAL Organ Grinder had arrived from shadesong, along with my reimbursement for our dental checkups/cleanings last month (yay for having a job with dental coverage!) and a small tax credit.
So, a very good round of mail, especially as Narly had to have dental work too, this month (far more expensive than ours, and not covered); so it's nice to be able to make a dent in my credit card balance. Unfortunately, as regards the Organ Grinder, I have a bit of a cold at the moment so it's hard for me to judge the scent, though I think the black patchouli, rather than the almond and sarsparilla, predominates when I wear it.
Don sent me this link on one fan's theory that all Pixar movies to date take place in the same universe, though at vastly different time periods. I don't know if I agree, but I like the Cloud Atlas vibe this interpretation gives to the Pixar oeuvre.
