...Merry Creepmas :)
green_trilobite and I are visiting my family tomorrow, but tonight we celebrated Christmas Eve with theengineer and his brother by watching The Blue Carbuncle, Justice League - Comfort and Joy, The Tick Loves Santa, and Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown. The last one I hadn't seen in several years, and I noted that one of the pleasures of seeing older animation on DVD is that of noticing the details of creation - I could make out the brushstrokes and the texture of pencil/charcoal lines in the backgrounds, and that fact that the foreground trees in some outdoor scenes had been cut from paper for a slightly three-dimensional look.
We wished them merry Xmas, and hugged; "I'm secure enough in my masculinity to hug you," the engineer declared to green_trilobite, "but this is better," he added, hugging me. His brother hugged green_trilobite (he'd already had his hug from me): "Now let's never speak of this again, " he said firmly.
When we arrived home, green_trilobite said, "Ganesha has underpants on his head." I removed my Felix-the-Cat thong from the statue by our front door. I really need to tidy up, but it can wait until Boxing Day.
