We live in an apartment, so both cats are indoor-only. Bea came to us as an unsocialized feral, though— she likes me, but I can’t pick her up for more than a few seconds, and yesterday she knew something was up because we kept trying to get her to come close. She’s a smart and agile little girl, and also her fur is quite smooth so the one time I managed to grab her she slipped right out of my hands. She’d forgiven us by last night and purred at me very loudly.
We’ve rescheduled for next week, and I’ve asked Andrew to stay out of the way, as I think his presence was amping up the tension and Bea was picking up on it. We did end up discovering she seems to enjoy listening to him play recorder (he does not play well).
