Thursday Report

1. Had a preliminary job interview today by telephone; I was told the actual HR person is off this week, so I guess I find out next week whether or not I advance to the next round. I’m not sure I want this particular job all that much, and may have sunk myself by admitting I’m not personally all that excited about the financial sector; but I think this was the “making sure there’s a real person behind the resume and they speak conversational English” stage of things, so who knows.
2. If I do get a call back, and it’s an in-person interview, I suppose I shall have to buy new nylons, which is a nuisance since the brand I usually buy are in one of the currently-forbidden aisles at Dollarama; Shoppers’ will have a bunch of different kinds but at a higher price. At least I have bleach on hand if I need to redo my hair in a colour other than blue. 
3. Beatrice meowed at me this morning to get my attention, the first time I’ve heard her do so. She’s pretty vocal, but up till now she’s just chirped or trilled, to Nana or in a soliloquizing sort of way; she purrs when I stroke or feed her, but I feel like the meow is a new level in her relationships/communication with humans.
4. My Sarah Jane and the Fourth Doctor fic, Revelation In San Diego, is now up to eight chapters as of Tuesday evening. They’re short chapters, and we’re barely into the sf part of the story, largely because I’m seat-of-the-pantsing that part, so the longer I can put off an explanation the better ;)

Aww it's so cute when cats learn to meow.

Love that the government is all "YOU NEED TO GET BACK TO WORK" but doesn't allow nylons at Dollarama.

I literally cannot remember the last time I had to wear nylons. But I work at a University, not in the corporate world.

I hate wearing slacks, so I usually wear skirts/dresses, and it’s early enough in the year I don’t think I can get away with bare legs, at least not in an office situation.
