I think this vacant lot in my neighbourhood used to be a shopping plaza. It still has the remains of the parking lot and the concrete foundations of the store(s) that used to stand there, and when it rains, they look like a reflecting pond. I could hear a lot of birds singing, too.

Not sure I thought of it as post-apocalyptic at the time (I was on a functional city bus, after all) but I suppose it could be taken that way. An optimistic apocalypse, perhaps.
