Cat News Update

 Well, tonight we had the preliminary telephone interview. Obviously the current situation has affected how they process applications, and the woman on the line told us apologetically they they’ve actually been getting more people applying to adopt pets (presumably because people are stuck at home and have more spare time to fill out the form on the website), so they’ve “added a couple of layers” to the approval process. Anyway, if we pass the hurdles, they’ll get back to us and we can move on the next stage, which is a skype visit with the kitten.

I assume that the Skype interview is to see if you like the kitty. I'm not sure that Kitty would be able to recognize the stuff on the screen as representing living critters. There's no smell and the sounds aren't coming from where the pictures are. I suggest you bounce around a lot during the interview if you want to gain Kitty's attention. Cats can detect a nanometre movement lasting a nanosecond but they're not so good at shape recognition of still objects.

Well, they called back last night and said that rather than a skype session, they just send some videos of the kitten. I confess I’m a little disappointed by that, but nbd.
