I just reread Kelly Link’s story/prose poem “The Girl Detective.” It’s twenty years old this year. If you’ve never read it before (though I suspect people who visit this blog mostly have), it’s kind of a mashup of Nancy Drew, The Twelve Dancing Princesses, various urban legends and weird bits of advice, and Demeter’s search for Persephone only flipped.
Apparently someone did a stage adaptation in 2007. It ran in rep with Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland.
