Via boingboing - a "remix the Internationale" contest. Funny thing, last week I went into the Lakeshore and Mimico Red&White, and I could have sworn the muzak was a slide-guitar-and-soprano-sax cover of the Internationale; which would be sort of weird for a Polish neighbourhood, so maybe it was one of those only-so-many-notes-that-go-well-together things.
Speaking of boinginess, I finally joined the MMO Second Life (it's like a chat room crossed with a really big lego set) after boingboing reminded me that it existed; even though I'm on dial-up & can't tell if my avatar actually makes gestures when I hit the function keys. It really is amazing how much they let you customize your appearance, though. My avatar, Mooncustafer Hazlitt, is (deliberately) somewhat shorter, curvier and more purple than my real-life self, but I succeeded the other night in making her a pair of glasses out of the primitives one uses to construct game objects.
