If there’s one thing that’s going to get me fired from my job it’s my inability to guess when I’m supposed to CC some other person on an email and when I’m supposed to leave them out of the loop until the details are firmed up/not bother them with trivialities.

There must be some kind of protocol. Maybe if I ask for a set of rules on who to include when.
