Saturday on our way to Ad Astra, we saw a smart-car customised to look like a Lindt gold chocolate bunny. Upon arrival at the hotel, green_trilobite suggested we see if there were any rooms left. There were, so I bought us a couple of toothbrushes and we prepared to stay overnight. I spent the day drawing pictures of people and horses, triplets, Mickey Cthulu, and pinup girls.
Sunday morning after breakfast we went home and fed the cats. They were surprisingly calm about our lateness, and Carter hadn't marked our bed. The pheremone spray stuff must be working. In the afternoon we went to the flea market. I took a beautiful black silk-chiffon evening dress into the washroom to try on, only to find that the zipper was jammed. Rashly, I pulled it on over my head and wriggled it on. It fit well, but I wasn't acrobatic enough to pull it off again. The vendor cut it along the outer edge of the zipper and took ten dollars off the price (green-trilobite bought it for me). The invisible-mending people on Mount Pleasant (wow, when I phrase it like that it sounds like they're brownies or something) should be be able to repair it. Then I'll just need someplace to wear an Audrey-Hepburn-esque party frock. Meanwhile, green_trilobite had found a 1929 collection of Bringing Up Father strips, which he plans to eventually give to his mom.
In the evening I did a full-colour Vargas-type pinup in Photoshop, using it as a paint program and mostly working the airbrush, blur and smear tool functions. This is all because my brother wants a logo for his kickball team, but he wrote today that it has to be a simplified silkscreen thing, so I may go for more of a 'fifties line-drawing look.
The "Marilyn" condo won the design contest to be built in Mississagua. However, I don't think green_trilobite will be happy about this other condo, by the architect responsible for the OCAD expansion
