Mid-week Update

Slow day at work, fighting a headache, and co-worker off sick.

I received my Yuletide assignment on Monday. Am I allowed to talk about it here, or does that threaten the anonymity of the fic exchange? Anyway right now I’m trying to amass story ideas and the kind of details that generate them.

Weird exhausting weekend (water shut off, then came back but only cold, and with pressure so high it damaged my showerhead.)

Gord Perks was reelected as my ward’s councilor. I was hoping for Kalsang Dolma, but as far as I know Perks isn’t horrible. Faith Goldy came third in the mayoral race, which is uncomfortably close, even if it was a distant third. On a positive note, Giorgio Mammoliti lost his seat – less cheeringly, this will probably just nudge him to go into provincial or federal politics.

Andrew got a box set of Vincent Price movies; I probably ought to post about some of them.

I really want some chocolate right now but it’s just over an hour until my lunch break.

In general terms, like this, yes. In specific terms that might identify your recipient/fandom, no, not officially. Or at least, not without putting it on flock so that other people (particularly your recip and the mods) can't possibly see!

And, yikes, cold showers! I hope it is fixed now?

Partly, but they just sent out a memo that the water will be shut off for a bit tomorrow. Most likely they did a temp fix to get us the water back, but they’ve had to schedule a shutoff to do something more long-term.

Perks is one of the better ones but Kalsang Dolma looked very exciting. I wonder how she'd have done in a smaller ward if Ford hadn't done his electoral gerrymandering. Last time I was in Parkdale, it looked like she had huge support, especially in the Tibetan community.
