Looks like the kitten Nyarlethotep is recovering after giving us a scare over the weekend with some sort of viral infection. In celebration/cheering-up, I brought green_trilobite hargao and a box of sushi from the giant Asian grocery store near my workplace. It was all stocked up with New Year's stuff, although nothing especially dog-themed unless you count the greeting cards featuring Charlie Brown & Snoopy. I may have to buy some of the Daoist-deity gingerbread men & take them to First Thursday. The coffee shop across the street from our place had more improvised new-year decor: the god on the top shelf had an orange and a glazed donut offering in addition to his usual incense, and was flanked by a Beany Baby teddybear wearing a party hat.
