I just went online to post my EI report, and the system tells me I "don't have a claim." Not that my EI has run out, but that I don't have a claim. I can't tell if the payments have run out two months before I thought they would, and the government website is just phrasing things really ambiguously, or if something's gone wrong and my claim has disappeared from the system.

Either way, I have to wait until Monday morning to ask them.

To make things worse, this happened right after I woke Andrew from a nightmare about losing our home, and reassured him that we were ok for now. Considering that reality has just decided to laugh at that, he's holding up well.

Alas, it turns out that while the EI info session I was required to attend in February made me think I qualified for 45 weeks of support, I only qualified for 34. We do have a buffer in the form of the tax rebate we got this year when Andrew's qualification for the disability tax credit was finally recognized, retroactive to 2005, so we're not in immediate difficulties, and I've stepped up the job search.
