I remember being slightly famous for maintaining that cuttlefish and squids had the best sex lives but I can't remember now why I considered them superior to the octopodes. I was, however, impressed by the recent accounts of the octopodes which signal emotional states through colour changes and the two-faced behaviour that this allows some male suitors: on the honey-bunch's side they are all mellow but on the side facing their rivals in the rest of the (sand) bar they're freaking-out dangerous.

The cuttle fish sim is actually based upon the recent observation that smaller males sometimes adopt female colouration to sneak into a larger male's territory and get close to the females there.
