Been a week of taking Carter in for tests (he's been refusing the new canned cat food, to the point of unhealthy weight loss, and the vet wants to check for liver problems) and waiting for Andrew's dental work to be finished so we can have something other than canned pasta for dinner.

Baby cat had liver problems but they mostly affected his energy levels and his fur got all oily and grubby looking. He's been on this chicken flavoured sauce that goes on his wet canned food for about 4 months and he's back to being an energetic puff-ball again. He can probably go off it next month. He also had thyroid problems. These are very common in older cats: especially if, unlike Carter, they've been mostly eating canned food. That was causing his shrinkage. He'll have to get his ears waxed daily with this other special sauce for the rest of his life for that as Dee didn't go for the Nuclear Option of a one time zap. Over the aforementioned 4 months he's gained back a small bit of the weight that he lost as opposed to the previous rapid shrinkage.
