Q: If you could be a mythological monster, like a zombie, vampire, whatever, what kind would you be?
A: Not a zombie, because I find them rather dull, that's sort of the point -- I mean, no one ever says "O look, what an interesting zombie." I wouldn't be a vampire, because I'd be worried about my hair all the time, not being able to check it in a mirror. I think I'd like to be one of those people with snakes for hair, because you'd always have company. And you turn people to stone, so you'd never be short of decorative statuary.

Q: What can a person do to not be lonely?
A: Have snakes for hair. Then you can talk to the snakes. Failing that, I suppose you could try talking to other people.

He was also asked whether he had any brightly-coloured clothing that he wore to surprise people, and he admitted that he brings colourful workout gear on tour so he can go jogging incognito.

Also, Shirley Maclain once came up to him, asked if his hair was a wig, and when he said it wasn't, pulled it to make sure he wasn't lying.
