Rewatching the Disney Little Mermaid. I'd forgotten how they get out of Ursula's triumph at the end, but apparently Prince Eric had read The Call of Cthuhlu as a teenager.

Also, this may be the only fantasy I can think of off the top of my head where the protagonist gets to stay in the exotic world she always dreamt of -- in most stories she Sees the Error of Her Ways and spends the second half of the story trying to get home.

Crazy Jane, in Doom Patrol eventually gets to live on the world of equally crazy people that she always dreamt of but that's all I can think of. I blame the MGM "Wizard Of Oz" version of Oz. In the original stories everyone ended up moving from Kansas to Oz.

I recall a few years ago that someone giving a talk at the Merril on YA SF absolutely hated this trend -- as far as she was concerned real SF should be telling young people to get out and explore the universe, not to go home to their parents.
