Watching Gilliam's Baron Munchausen on blu-ray, and noticed that in the scene where they're filling the hot-air balloon, one of the set crew is visible in the lower-left corner of the shot (he's wearing a jacket with 'KING KONG LIVES' on the back.)
I'd always heard that that scene was a bear to shoot, and then it all came together at the last moment just before they lost the daylight; so I'm guessing Gilliam had to use whatever footage he'd been able to get.
