Because sovay posted about it, rewatched James Cagney in Picture Snatcher. So very, very Pre-Code -- the washrooms in the offices of the Graphic News are very much part of the location. Cagney, as always, seems slashable with everyone, and I'd never actually seen someone I could describe as "pie-eyed," but Ralph Bellamy manages it.
I love how the Graphic News offices are decorated with signs they've evidently stolen from other locations ("Quiet - Public Library" "No Parking").
