So, I just got home and checked my email to find a message from my temp agency saying, "Assignment's over! Don't bother coming in on Monday!" I've sent a reply saying I'll be in on Monday to return my security pass and retrieve my shoes from under my desk.

Wish I knew if this was (a) punishment for having been off sick last week, (b)just a three-month contract and the length was never actually specified, or (c) because there were so few phone calls this week, they decided to cut a bunch of people. No one at work gave me any hint. Maybe they didn't know.

It's not like I liked the work at all, (and every time a supervisor spoke to me I figured it was the axe anyway) but now I have to calm green_trilobite down because damn, we needed the money. I'm trying to tell him there's nothing we can do right now, and we were going to sell some dvds over the weekend anyway, and I'll go get another job that doesn't require me to triple my anti-anxiety meds to do it.

At least I don't have to cover property taxes this month.

Thanks. The temp agency called later that evening, sounding as surprised as I was at the news. I'm to speak to them Monday morning to try and find out what happened and, I hope, to get reassigned somewhere else.
