Rewatching I, Claudius, aka the "Every Time It looks Like Thinks Are Finally Going to Get Better, They Don't" show. This become really obvious when you watch a bunch of episodes back to back.

Whenever someone mentions I, Claudius, I get old mental notes popping up. In a professional if mildly electronic voice.

Ridiculously young evil Patrick Stewart just showed up a couple of episodes ago - partly because Brian Blessed had been killed off. Every time someone gets killed off they introduce new characters to top up the ensemble.
