Both links go to the same fabulous John Henry page. I remember a wonderfully Politically Incorrect Disney cartoon about a similar race between some gigantic Paul Bunyan type and a pile of Chinese Coolies. He was laying out a railway from the east coast and they were coming from California and the race was to get your tracks to the center of the continent first. I was rooting for the Chinese guys the whole way through and was fascinated by their perfect teamwork. I remember snorting rootbeer up my 4 year-old nose laughing at the littlest Chinese who was had to hold up the spikes as they were being driven in and was always almost getting killed.

A more realistic and historically accurate version from the old "Kung Fu" TV show was also a favourite of mine.
