My first thought was to ask Bri-chan @ Deviantart 'cos I know she's done a few custom canvas shoes. But she hasn't figured out a good sealer either...mind you it isn't really paint on the part of the shoe that needs to move....which might cut down on the flexing issues. But yeah, I dunno. The only sealer I've ever used is water-based on clay.
I'm not worried so much about the acrylic as about the sharpie - I don't know if it'll smudge or run. Maybe I should just use some hairspray on it, then a water-based sealer - what do you use?
Uhhhhhh good question. What the craft store had. *roots around on the floor* Bloody nora! Wh...oh here it is. "Delta Ceramcoat: Gloss Interior: Varnish" ...apparently. I know I've gotten sharpie wet without it running or smudging but as for how it reacts to chemicals, no idea.
I suppose you could always test it in a small area on the bottom of the shoe (so long as you don't ever practice silly walks in public).
No idea on what to use, but those are beyond fabulous! I'm not sure what I was envisioning from your plans for the wedges, but your talent at mods is much greater than my imagination. Bravo :-)
