Labour Day Weekend

Uneventful; my parents were in town, cat-sitting for my brother, so they took green_trilobite and myself to brunch on Sunday at the Schoolhouse Bakery/Café. The food was good but there was quite a lineup to get in.

Watched a lot of those Nelvana/Elipse Tintin cartoons (which are nearly twenty years old now). Thompson and Thomson try to arrest Tintin *a lot* – you’d think that after the first time he was framed and then caught the real villains, they’d be a little more willing to hear him out.

They don't have any choice: they're stock characters! In one of the Boston Blackie radio shows Inspector Faraday bursts into a penthouse party which Blackie is attending and announces that one of the guests has just been found planted on the sidewalk 18 stories below and that a witness on an adjoining building saw him pushed over. Then he sees Blackie standing there and goes "A ha! And there's the man that did it!"

Blackie sez: "Hello Faraday. I remain, as always, your faithful suspect."
