*meekly* D'you think I'd be beaten to death with sacks of oranges over there if I pointed out very gently that the character's names are Merrick and Blazanov, rather than Merritt & Blazenov? I never know if well-meaning things like that'll be percieved in a nah-nah-I-know-better-than-you kinda way, or not. I'd wanna know if I was getting a character name wrong but I dunno whether anyone else would. : /
No, not at all - it's mostly myself who's been misspelling. (I keep thinking "Merrick? No wait that's the Elephant Man, it must be spelled some other way.")
I had to check my impulse to add an E at the end of Cochran at first, because of Zephram Cochrane (inventer of warp drive lol). Now when I'm talking about Zephram I have to REMEMBER about the extra E. & I had a devil of a time with Farnum for some reason. I learn through multiple checking 'cos I'm a careless speller until I can get a mental photograph of a name securely burned in.
