Off to Polaris for the day. Expect to return late, to grumpy cats.

I was sorry to miss Armin Shimerman....dear ol' uncle Quark <3

Some. Finally got a properly-made corset (early birthday present from green_trilobite), which happened to be a beautiful match for the outfit I was already wearing; rec'd many compliments on my hat; downside - had a headache much of the day, Polaris either has no room-parties or hides them exceedingly well; and the Gardiner was closed, making our taxi-ride home more expensive than the one to get there.

More details tomorrow.

Aww, nice. I woulda had a headache too but I know my delicate temperature regulation so I took a gelcap before we went out.
I've only been to Polaris once, it seemed much smaller and saner than the chaos that is Fan Expo. Also there was a furry wolf in a starfleet uniform. ^_^

The notorious Children's Crusade (1212) would seem small and sane compared to FanExpo.

I got a Costume Bingo Card, and crossed off multiples of: anime character; Furry; Captain Hammer; elf; Spartan; Starfleet uniform; video game character; someone wearing a Jane Hat; steampunk anything; the 10th Doctor; Jedi; storm trooper; the Ghostbusters; costumed baby. Not seen - a dalek; Waldo, costumes made of cardboard boxes; Indiana Jones; the Joker or the Mad Hatter (surprising that - both are usually pretty thick on the ground); hobbits, Chewbacca; Dread Pirate Roberts (lots of other pirates, though); slave Leia.

I guess people leave the tinfoil bikinis for the really big cons. ^_^
Maybe everyone who would have done the Joker assumed that everyone would be doing the Joker, so no one did....

As a bonus, there were three people dressed as the "yip yip yip" aliens from Sesame Street. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fQaj31Wtko).

I was kind of scared of them as a kid.

Apparently one of my first words was 'Fish!' because of that one where the puppet shark is singing about how important it is to brush your teeth.
