...is open today, but someone has secretly replaced all their stuff with boring stuff. I didn't see a single thing I'd even try on. This is a novel and somewhat unpleasant sensation for me.

I haven't been to VV in a few years, but IIRC they're comparable - I think Goodwill has slightly lower prices overall, VV has a better selection of shoes.
