The radio keeps running an ad for the Conservatives which begins with a supposedly average middle class ™ woman saying “It’s a good thing that Harper cut taxes,” before going on to worry the other guys will get in and raise taxes to pay for fripperies like education and social programs.

Thing is, she praises Harper’s “*good* thing” in a stilted, over-emphatic tone that suggests she’s afraid of being sent to the cornfield.

I can’t figure out if the actress is deliberately subverting the message, or if they just told her to talk that way because they think the voters will respond better.

I wish Ignatieff wasn't so fucking creepy....I'm hoping if people who'd usually go Liberal are put off by him they'll swing towards NDP for once.
Mind you the whole thing is ridiculous and I doubt there'll be a result anything but marginally different.
