My usual plan of dressing for the rain is to wear a short skirt or cropped pants, and bare legs, on the theory that my lower legs and feet will get soaked no matter what, and skin will dry off faster than cloth once I get to where I’m going. This morning I should have just skipped pants altogether.

Yeah, the 'wear a giant Scully trenchcoat' method breaks down sometimes, too. There just aren't enough buttons in the world when rain and wind plot together like Batman villains.

I have a nylon shell for some snow pants and some goretex fisherman's socks for the squalls. I'm still looking for some decent rubber boots that *don't* have insulation. They either cook my feet or fall apart.

I think tomorrow’s strategy will be to bring a second set of clothes in a waterproof bag.
