Easter Weekend Report

Friday we cleaned the apartment. Most of the living room carpet is now visible and it is also possible to walk up to the tv screen.

Saturday, green_trilobite got a haircut and I bought my cousins a wedding present – a glass pitcher resembling a non-anthropomorphic version of the Kool-Aid Man, and a glass stirring stick. They will likely also get a bottle of wine and a recipe for sangria. I am still deciding whether or not to write “Oh Yeah!” on the gift tag.

Saw a lone busker singing ‘Love Me Do,’ while accompanying himself on the tambourine. It was like Ringo as a solo act.

Removed coats, had brunch on patio.

Watched Dr. Who, shivered.

Yesterday we had dinner with my parents at my brother’s place. My brother is actually in NY this weekend, so technically I guess his cat Edison was our host.

I think all of my immediate cousins are past the marrying stage and to the breeding stage, collectively there are....8 offspring and one in utero. It is a veritable mess of babies.

Mine do that in fits and starts, at least on my mother's side - these, however, are my father's side, who based on the last couple of generations, tend to have exactly two kids apiece, one boy and one girl.

..though I am going to be a dead-end on that neatly bifurcating family tree; and I’m starting to suspect my brother will be too.

Yeah, I...yeah. I have a sort of unique perspective in that I know I'd have a son and I know he'd be...not quite right. I've seen him in my dreams. Lovely child, very happy, very trusting...but not all there. I don't know what would afflict him but he'd suffer for it. I just know it in my bones. So apart from other logistical problems (ie. No one in their right minds would have me), I doubt I'd ever have children.
I don't know about my brother...it's actually hard to think of HIM as anything but a little boy himself. Lol.

Hmmm on mum's side there's two boys and one girl, on dad's side....hoo boy... Four girls plus one on the way, and one boy. I think I got my initial maths wrong or forgot somebody. Lol.

The pattern on my mom's side is basically some of the family have lots of kids, and some have zero kids but help bring up their neices and nephews, and later their great-(great etc) neices and nephews. AKA "sooner or later everyone crashes at Aunt Janette's for a few weeks or months."
