OK brain, you win. I`ll follow the plot bunnies. Down the rabbit hole.

In other news, I took green_trilobite to Cory Doctorow`s reading yesterday, but it was madly crowded and we had to leave. I`d also made the mistake of ducking under a table to get out of the way (I could still hear the reading, and there`s a lot of unused space under tables); but green_trilobite disn`t know where I`d gone. Also a young man who`d noticed me under the table kept asking me about my motivations; he even followed us on his bike for a while afterwards, asking “please, what sort of person sits under a table in order to not be in the way?” (uh, one who also isn`t in a mood for conversation?) so, basically, invisibility fail and social fail. I just hope I haven`t driven green_trilobite deeper into reclusiveness (reclusivity?)

The sort of person who's shy, or trying to regulate themselves through imposing extra filters, which are behaviors that are absolutely no one else's friggin' business? I spent a lot of time under tables, at one point. Frankly, what sort of person follows somebody down the street, complaining obnoxiously about their social choices? I don't see how you're the one entirely at fault, here.

He wasn't so much complaining as inquisitive - I'm guessing that he had some social issues of his own. Maybe he wanted a table of his own.

Ditto re: the nosey person on the bike.

A trifle tricksy of you to temporarily disappear into the underworld but you, of all people, deserve GT's trust as to your timely re-appearance and there's nothing unusual about such invisibility attempts in our circles. Tho' I suppose he could be worrying about some pulp scenario like the start of "The Avenger" series....

Although I do feel your culpability as to any untoward consequences of the event is minimal, especially when measured against your responsibility for good and nice things, I would fault you a tad for being greedy for responsibility. Let Fate, Chaos and all those other types have *some* responsibility for these things. I, myself, am often at fault this way. Because I can affect and effect more than most I decide that I should be able to fix ALL and regard it as some unexpected failure when things prove beyond my control. Just spent two days being grumpy about my personal efforts only getting a small win against a multi-millionaire developer in a legal system heavily stacked in his favour.
