Ignatius Sancho, freed slave turned writer/journalist/grocer,describes the Gordon riots.

ETA - I should point out myself that this isn’t the best analogy – The Gordon riots were at least nominally because Protestants were angry about the loosening of anti-Catholic laws; although individual motivations seem to have been varied and complex (William Blake joined in at one point) and I think at least one MP or lord was actually fomenting much of the violence for his own purposes.

Woke during the night from some half-remembered dream that handful_ofdust would have liked, in that it was some sort of Scandanavian horror flick about a family trying to protect the young foster son they’ve taken in, who turns out to have escaped from some kind of experimental attempt to recreate a Viking berserker, through means best left to the imagination.
