The blog associated with the webcomic xkcd (source of my icon) is worth checking out - not does xkcd seem to have displaced Gary Larsen as the wallpaper of choice for math/science departments, but fans are starting to make sure life occasionally imitates the comic - Cory Doctorow was recently presented with a red cape and goggles (and a token balloon); and a paleontologist, noticing the recurring theme of velociaptor-phobia, has written in with some self-defense-against-velociraptors ideas.
