Grr Arrgh

Yesterday I took the day off for a check-up in the morning, then mom-in-law-sat for green_trilobite so he could have some time off. His latest and rarest antiquary purchase had arrived by FedEx, and he'd made scans of it to give to the Merril. In the afternoon he sold some of his comics for a decent sum which he set aside as spending money for the Pulp Show in May. All of which should have made him happy, but his dental appointment turned out to be with a new hygenist who cleaned painfully and maniacally while chirping deprecations at him; he heard that one of the Batman artists recently died; he came home to find that I'd been unable to stop Mom-in-law from traveling around the living room in her wheelchair even though she can walk, and that the humidifier had got knocked over and spilt as a result; and our real-estate lawyer finally emailed us back with instructions he could have carried out that day if they'd arrived during business hours; now I'll have to take Friday off so he can go out to deal with them. Sigh. We knew this was going to be hard. At least he just called to say she's been referred to the St-Joseph's seniors department, so maybe we can get her some occasional daycare.
