Anyone else think Horatio was an agent provocateur secretly working for Fortinbras? I mean, he's the only major character left alive at the end of the play, and it seems *awfully* convenient that the Norwegian invasion force should reach the palace approximately fifteen minutes after the entire Danish royal family have killed each other.
Yeah, I know, shades of Thurber's The MacBeth Murder Mystery (which I suppose could be considered an early piece of fanfic).
