green_trilobite's a pro-wrestling fan, so the recent Chris Benoit murder-suicide -yurrghh. Actually, I feel especially sorry for one fashion_mask on the wrestling fan LJ community, who was posting about the case last night and is now lamenting that he can no longer find refuge from his schizophrenia in watching wrestling, since he's started to believe that his looking at the footage causes bad things to happen to the performers.
Sigh.
In lighter news:
A man on the bus today did the not-uncommon screaming and swearing at the driver for not stopping where he wanted, shook his fist in his face, then, as he got off, shouted several times "Get a real job!" His attitude struck me as somewhat contradictory.
Just watched Plan Nine from Outer space. The effects actually aren't that bad - they even hold up reasonably well on HD. What the movie chiefly is is uneven - you can see that Wood and his crew lavished great care on the flying saucer shots, hardly any on the shots, for the same scene, in which an army officer stands in front of a blank, wrinkled canvas background and looks through binoculars.
Sigh.
