Making Light did a bit on one of the latest omg-the-internet-is-corrupting-our-kids news stories - a teen who did a making-things-go-boom science experiment he saw online, but ignored the part about not standing over it when it goes off, and temporarily blinded himself. ML's readers respond with over a hundred comments in which they reminise about their, their fathers', uncles', siblings', friends' and high school chem teachers' pre-internet experiments with explosives, and worry where the rocket scientists of tomorrow will come from if kids and teens are too over-protected.
