Found while attempting to look up the phrase "nutsy-fagin" (so far no one knows, except it's probably unrelated to the character from Oliver Twist): Cruel names for babies.

This is why I should not have children - I'm not sure I could resist the temptation to name them after typefaces or something. Of course, any kid related to me would probably be teased mercilessly in school anyway, so the name wouldn't make much difference either way.

Oh, exactly. Actually, some you could get away with, like Ariel, or Cooper. Copperplate you'de have to hide as a middle name. Will Eisner named a female character Sand Serif. I would never name a kid Helvetica, though. That would be too cruel. The dangerous ground I'd tread would be something like Optima.


On a related note, if I were ever designing a modern "Kiss me, I'm Italian" T-shirt, I'd probably put it something like
