I don’t usually have dreams within dreams, but I kept trying to tell various uninterested parties about the dream I’d had about a Saturday matinee on a spaceship, with a handful of kids down in front watching some old black-and-white serial on the screen, and a throuple of shapeshifters making out in the back row.

I don’t usually have dreams within dreams, but I kept trying to tell various uninterested parties about the dream I’d had about a Saturday matinee on a spaceship, with a handful of kids down in front watching some old black-and-white serial on the screen, and a throuple of shapeshifters making out in the back row.

I feel like Saturday matinées on a spaceship would be something of a big deal, unless you were already on the spaceship to begin with.

My own reflexive thought was: Retro Movie Night on Deep Space Nine.

(And, as the sort of person who checks the bookshelves in furniture ads to see what the people in IKEAland are reading, I can’t help but wonder what movie(s) they were watching.)
