I’m no expert on the topic, but this True Stories had the most believable depiction of voodoo out of all those I’ve seen in movies.
I studied it a little with a professor who was a practitioner of (the kindred Afro-Caribbean syncretic religion of) santería and it looks like it to me. And it works.
