1. Yes! I got to touch a flying fox when I was a kid. It was about the cutest animal that is not one of my cats. I love them so much.
I also had to remove a bat that got into my house during a very raucous party. That was also fun in a different way because my roommate and her boyfriend at the time kind of saw it go in, but weren't positive, and then the next morning found out and flipped that they might have rabies, so I womanned up and engaged in pursuit of the thing with a tofu container. It had gotten into her closet and she'd gone as far as to remove all the clothes. I made a bunch of noise and the bat flopped out but was super sleepy so I was able to catch it in the tofu container. Obviously I wanted to keep it as a pet as it was hella cute (not as cute as the flying fox, though) but that would be cruel, so I snapped some pictures of it and then set it free on the roof.
2. Yes. Clothed. There is a great published comic in which I modelled both a transgender teenager and the assholes who bully her.
