I was watching The Lost Weekend (1945) last night because it was on TCM and I had mixed feelings about it as an addiction drama, but then we got to the scene where Ray Milland hallucinates a bat bloodily attacking and killing a terrified mouse and I knew it was a dramatic case of DTs, but it just felt like bat character assassination.
