I had a whole entry worked out and I hit the wrong combination of buttons and erased my words. The nutshell version is that on the one hand, I sometimes feel I haven’t been reckless enough; and on the other, I feel as though any decision I make is constrained by circumstances, AND also has its effects flattened out in the long-term anyhow—that I’ve encountered very few life-and-death decisions that I’m aware of -- but then, how can I be certain of the chain of causality when I’m still living in it?
