Saturday Update

 Watched People Will Talk (1951) on YouTune. Afterwards Andrew and I argued about whether or not Cary Grant is still a household word.

Andrew: I know about Cary Grant. You know about Cary Grant. But he’s not a... Christmas ornament. Does that make sense?
Me: He should be a Christmas ornament. There should be a Hallmark Christmas Ornament (tm) of the bit in Bringing Up Baby where he yells “I just went GAY all of a sudden!”

The June 30 protests of the existence of Trumpcamps will include one in Toronto. I usually just show up to these things as an additional warm body and don’t lug a sign downtown, but due to a recent post by selenak  I ended up googling Erich Ohser’s comic strip strip Vater und Sohn, and think I might make a poster of one of the panels, possibly the last one from this strip.

Yes — I was trying to find an article I thought I recalled seeing a while back that had mentioned both Slezak and Edward Arnold, kept getting stuff about Red Skelton in The Yellow Cab Man, because Slezak and Arnold both have supporting roles in that, and was amused enough by the trailer titles to do some screen caps.
