The time period appears to have settled on 1850 - the geography is still nebulous (I need to get them to Kew at one point as a day-trip). I also want them to be "respectable working class," (and they both seem determined to do their own housework), but I'm still trying to work out if they could have their own (small) house and garden, which the plot requires, under those circumstances. Maybe if they're in a village. Must do more research.
Also that bookshop should probably be a bookstall, or possibly a circulating library (though Blake might have been too weird for a circulating library in 1850 - again, more research!)
