Well. Hum.
The easter-egg dye experiment was not a great success. I probably should have read the tutorial all the way through before beginning - apparently with egg dye you have to leave the yarn in for *up to several hours* for the colour to take. I've been spoiled by Kool-Aid dyeing, where you dunk the yarn in and it literally sucks the colour out of the water instantly; and holds onto it for dear life. Now I've got stained hands, and a multi-coloured but pallid lace shawl.
I think I'll wait for it to dry, and then overdye it with Kool-Aid like nature intended.
